Leckie, well-known to nearly every
body in this part of the country. died
at her residence, Toronto, after a long
and severe illness, aged 46 years. For

great sufferer and her disease was

she suffered a great dual but amidst
it all there was a calmness and peace
that only the Christian knows, The
corpse was brought to Bruseele on the
Monday afternoon train and was met

was conducted by Ravels. J. Ross, 13.

IN the curling contest last week be-
tween 'Bruseele and Wroxeter the

The game was a very close one all the
way through. Wroxeter will, in all
probability hold the Gibbons medal

There are at' present 38 patients
in the Catholic small pox hospital,
Montreal, 18 of whom are convaloa-
cent. There have been no new cases
reported for some days.
Nellie Todd. the Captain of the
Parse Salvation Army, who Wag sen-
tenced to pay a fine, or in default ton
days in jail, for creating a distur-
bance on the streets, refused to pay
the fine and hae gone to jail.
A case of mineral poisoning of some
children in Thorald bas been traced
to sucking those little metal garden
tools which have been distributed
with purchase of candy. The coat-
ing on these is an alloy of copper and
other poisonous minerals.
