iste or these supporters of the Do-
minion Government who urge -the
Ontario Government to assume the
responsibility of enforcing the
Scott Act, a man who is favorable
to the Act must be placed at the
head of it, and ho must be a naau
of great force of character. As
the Scott Act 18 a temporary en-
actment in counties that adopt it,
and some of them aro sure to
repeal it when they got a chance
to do so, the officers, if their is to
be one, should be empowered to
see after the proper enforcement
of the Crooks Act also. The local
inspectors are not always to be de-
pended on for this purpose, and
some of them would be none the
worse for having a sharp overseer.
That the ranks of temperance
workers can furnish the right kind
of man if the Government really
want one,' need not bo doubted.
There are plenty of them, and no
doubt some suitable man will be
found ready to undertake the work
if it is to bo done.
