THERE is a certain bovine, of the
feminine persuasion, belonging to
Mill street, that wears a bell. She
has a peculiar fancy to "ring, ring
the bell" after the shadows of evening
have fallen, greatly to the discomfort
of the villagers of that locality, whose
peaceful slumbers are often disturbed
by the incessant "ding, ding" of the
bell. The other night one of the
Mill street residents became so in-
censed that he rose from his downy
couch, and without waiting to adorn
hie person with his day time clothes,
gave "bossy" a lively obase. The
people who have been disturbed say
"shoot the bell."

THE TELGMANN FAMILY.—A0a0rdiug
to announcement, this talented faint-
ly gave an entertainment in the
Town Hall on Monday evening. Tho
program was a genuine musical treat
and the instrumental selections were
excellent, The violin solo by Miss
Doretta was splendidly given, as was
the solo by her brother. Doretta also
sang a solo en good style. In addition
to the program furnished by the
troupe, Miss Kerr sang, "Willie, boy,
come home," and "Eve's Lamenta•
tion," and for au encore, "Shake
Hands." Hiss 0' Connor, who is a
recent arrival in Brussels, gave
"Ehnen, my Country," and "Tit for
tat," and for encores, "People will
talk," and "No, sir," m a manner
that eatabllahes het reputation as a
vocalist of the front rank. Mrs. Pow-
ell played the accompaniments with
her usual ability, The concert was
a decided success, and those mho
stayed et home missed a rare treat.
The family consists of six members,
whose ages range from nine to twen-
ty five years. The selections given
were varied, from the very high classi-
cal to the lighter compositions, so sr•
