Rev. D. C. ULAPPISON preached two
funeral sermons last Sunday. In the
morning his text was "I know whom
I have believed" and in the evening
"'We all do fade as a leaf." Approp-
riate anthems were sung, viz "I heard
a voice from heaven," and "I am the
resurrection and the life." An adult
baplismeon0hided the evening service,
Miss Della Bawtinbimer receiving the
right. The service of the evening,
especially, was a very impressive one.
Tate following is from the Winglham
Videlte and is so witty (?) we present
it to our readers. The editor of the
Viditte has been lately married and
18 very full of humor, you know.-
Thu editor of the Brussels Post took
a trip to Guslph the other day and de-
votes a column in his paper giving ,In
account of his trip He starts off by
assuring his readers that he travelled
in a first-class passenger car. This
wa8 .t uselesr piece of extravagance;
a eeat on a trunk in the baggage car
or ou one of the car steps is usually
good enough for an editor. But then
he probably ](new the conductor, and
procured it seat on the wood box. At
Guelph ho "attended a glass blower's
entertainment and was greatly inter-
ested in the skillful operations of the
persons Working glass into dozens of
tasty little Ornaments, vessels, etc."
This was Friday night and the fol.
lowing morning "found us at the pol-
ice court," Although he assures his
readers that he visited the latter plana
of his own free will, it loons rather
suspicious after the "glase.blowing,"
Then ho visited the model farm,
water works, and oh, ever so many
places, and arrived rafoly Iloln0 after
his four days' trip with only a collar
box He announces finally that he
is "armed with the tremors and paste
pot, really to welcome 1111 those owing
us little 10count6." This seems like
a rather formidable welcome, but
then o r friend is uotoff on is holiday
