LAST Monday evening re horse belonging
So E. R. Grundy was choked to death or
broke its neck. The animal was attach-
ed to a buggy and was tied to the fence,
opposite a lir. Grundy's, with one of the
lines. The precaution was not taken to
remove the line from the ring on the

tempted to back up it got in trouble with

EAST Enron Fan Fair is once more
being brought to the notice of the people
of this section of the country. Although
the Fair will not be held until the month
of October the preliminary arrange-
ments have been made and an outline
program of special attractions drafted
and it is confidently expected that one of
the best glows ever held in this Riding
will be in 1800. Watch out for the an-
nouncement.
FAREWELL Surrsi.--Last Monday even.

a farewell supper to Harry J. Whitley, at
the Qtteen's Hotel. A splendid spread
was prepared and ample justice was done
by the company. After the usual toasts,
and a farewell opeeoh from H. 3„ the
company separated, The following songs
were given by members of the Band
during the evening t—"Old Virginia
Shore," W. Grewar ; "Pee gwine back to
Dixie," 13. L. Jackson ; "Good•bye old
man, Good.bye," A, Conley ; "'Tie for
money," Jas. Jones; "Tis thus we part,"
Paul Malloy ; "Over the garden wall,"
Davy Dike ; "Lusk to you, my boy,"
Bulger Smith ; "Auld Lang Syne," by
the Band. Mr. Whitley has been a resi-
dent of Brussels, and teacher of the
Band, for about seven years and has had
satisfaction of knowing that better music
cannot be produced in Huron County to-
day than that given by the lerusssls Band.
He is s good cornet player and also
handled tho bow on the big bass in the
orchestra. On Wednesday Mr. Whitley
took his departure for Richmond, Vir-
ginia, where he will represent a Ohioago
firm in the sale of their celebrated in-
struments. Mrs. Whitley and family
will continue to reside in Brussels for a
time. The Managing Committee of the
Band has advertised for a new teacher
and hope to eeodre a good man in, the
near future so that no interruption will
take place in their practice,
