Entrance examination,
A. M. Reid, ono former Principal, is
visiting friends here. He succeeded in
obtaining a first clans certificate, grade
A, at the recent University examina-

Suienco, and is also qualieed as an In-
spector.

Jabez Walker received a severe bite on
one of his lege from a dog at a farmer's
house near Walton whilst trying to dia•
pose of some meat. As soon as he arr-

The Walkerton Telescope of the 3rd
inst., says :—A gentleman who me°ul-
penied the Clutton base ball club here
yesterday afternoon, jumped from one of
the first story windows of the Central
Hotel, a distance of nearly twenty feet,
