FoomnALo.-Theflrat of the two match-
es between the Toronto Soots and the
Hurons, of Seafortb, the champions re-
spectively of the Toronto League and
the Western Association, was played
here Saturday afternoon. The ball was
kinked off at 2:50, The Soots opened
with a 80000801011 of vigorous rushee on
their opponents' defence, whioh eventu-
ally tl rminnted in a goal by Memhison
in fourteen minutes. Without lose of
time the ball was again sot rolling, and
the Scots repeated the dose, scoring their
eeoond goal in twelve minutes. This
was too much for the Hurdle, and they
now started to work and by some fine
playing sneoeeded in putting a goal
through in four minutes, and followed
by another in five, the first by Dewar
and Henderson, and the eeoond by Kil-
loran. No more goals before half-time,
After half.time the Hurons had the beet
of the playing, and besieged the Scots'
goal hard but without avail, till ab
length, the defence becoming anxious,
moved too far up, and the Soots got the
Lyall out and made a fine run, Burring the

to oven things up, but the visitors' cla-

twoen 0. Porrie and the renowned Jap,
Ma'suda K. Soraltichi, has at last been
arranged. All the preliminaries are
settled, and barring accidents the affair
will come off on Tuesday, (June 21111), at

are said to be iu the best possible con-
dition, whioh was not the ease, certainly
as to the Jap, at the Hastings match.
There is no doubt that this will be a
mighty struggle whioh will bring out the
best powers of both. Victory means a
great deal to the respective parties. If
the Jap loses it will an0rown him as the
champion wrestler, and give him a bleak
eye from whioh it will be diffio lb for
him to recover. If, on the other hand,
Porrie fails, it but puts off the day of his

Foomawn MATen.-Last Thursday
evening the lirussele club drove to Blue -
vale to play the return match with the
olub of that place. Play was started at
about 7 o'clock. During the first half
time the Bluevale goal was hotly besieged
but no goals were scored. In second half
the ball travelled from end to end oc-
casionally but was kept more in centre
than in first. It began to look ae if
neither would score till a Bluevale man,
who was "off Bide," kinked it through.
Brussels protested but goal was allowed
by referee. It would be well for spade -
tors at gamee of this kind to remember
that they cannot defeat a visiting club
by such terms as "reset him," "kick him
on the shins," eto., and also well for
people, especially girls, to remember that
if they do not respect themselves others
