8)1000 Eo,oiso.—For Some time past
a number of the farmers in the eastern
portion of the 8th con, have been greatly
bothered with sheep killing dogs vi.+fting
them, perhaps two or three dozen sheep
belonging to Jno. Lawson, Jas. Carter,
David Knight and. Chas. fat:Olie, respect-
ively, having been either killed outright
or badly aorriod. A short time a o
David Knight caught the ermines iu the
act and rousing the neighbors a chase
wee made after one of the dogs and utter
a wearisome and eventful 'run he was
shut and clubbed to death near Uriah
McO'adden's, in Grey tow&ohip. The
animal is said to belong to a M rris
farmer, but he dose not claim ovne, ship.
A fox trap was set in Mr. Knight's yard
two nights after and anoth, r dog nabbed,
A rope was produced to hang the destroy-
er but the hangman was not up to the
business and he (tile dog I meas,, was
despatched with a oarpenter'e adze. At
Etat the jury pronounced lite extinct but
when some of the hoye went to secure
the pelt for a pair of gloves the atdmal
had either walked off or bad been spirit-
ed away—m.,.be by some other fellow
who wants gloves. It is to be hoped that
tho killing of these two prowlers will put
a atop to the sheep killing and save the
persons interested both trouble uud loss.

St. Leon Mineral Water.
The following speak for themselves :
Brueeele, Ont., Jan. 8, 1890.
I have been using St. Leon water for
the putt month or so and have found it
very efficacious in promoting good health.
fter using it a week I found my appe-
tite much benefitted and can now eat 00
much in one meal as used to suffice ma
for two. For any rheumatic affection I
believe it to be ahead of tiny drugs or
patent medicines, and think that per-
sons of a rheumatic tendanoy ehould use
It constantly.

This water, the like of whioh is found
no where else bat at St. Leon, in the
Province of Queben, resembles all nat-
