publishers have not yet made any an- �
nouncement of it, the orders for the
Christmas number of the Montreal Star,
both from declare and private citizens,
are larger than over before at the eanno

The publishers have requested dealers to
exercise the greatest care in seeing that

A new English church has been opened
in Fordwioh.
Gibson' - woolen mill, Wroxeter, had a
close call last Monday from fire. It is
supposed to have started from a burgling
match being thrown among some taper
under the mounter in the office. Water
was so handy the flames were soon put
out but not before a lot of goods were
badly damaged and the building some-
what injured. The burning of the fac-
tory would almost mean a death blow to

A complaint was laid before Magistrate
Young, of Blyth, by Joshua Snell that an
aggravated assault had been committed
upon his person by Win. Fothergill. On
the information supplied the magistrate
issued a warrant For the arrest of the
accused party, and Constable Davis arm -
0d with the necessary papers proceeded
to the home of Mr. Fothergill and served
him with the warrant. The mase came
up for trial before Magistrates Young
and Kelly, who after hearing the evi-
denoe, fined the defendant, Wm, Fother-
gill, the sum of $1 and costs, in all $4.05.
Both these young men are residents of
East Wawanosh,
Perth County.

will be formed in oonneetion with Trinity

The contractors for I. Hord'o private
residence are now finishing up their work,
