that the East Huron Conservative As-

when Mr. Muegroye was nominated,
found it hard work to get any one will-

The Clinton New Era says : It has
esu rumored in political circles for
me time that Sir John intended to
errymender the Hurons at• the time of
the next oeneus. We bannot youth for
his intention, bnt we can vouch for the
rumor, and if the "re.adjustment" takes
anything like the form that is spoken of,
it will be a most shameful attempt to
prevent a free expreeeion of the will of
the people. The proposition is to take
Gray, whioh gives a Reform .majority of
250 or 800, out of the North Riding, and
put it into the South, which already has
over 1,000 of a Liberal majority, or p05•
eibly into North Wellington. Then East
Wawanosh, with a Liberal majority of
70, is to be baken from the West and put
into the North. This would make the
chances of a Liberal in the North ex-

all The West Riding already sup-
posed to be a Conservative stronghold, is
to be made more so by the addition of
Stanley and Rayfield, now forming part
of the South Riding. By this plan it is
thought the Government would be able
to elect two men in Huron instead of one
as a Liberal would be nowhere in the
West Riding, if the change is effeoted.
Of course this rumor will be contradicted
by those interested in defending the Gov.
ernment, but we nevertheless believe
that recommendations have been made
to the

Some boys were playing in the rear of
28 Windsor avenue, London, Sunday

their curiosity, and they loot no time in

NOTES FROM THE NonTHEAotr A few
jottings may not be out of place from
this corner. The root crop i8 now well
under Dover and a large breadth of fall
plowing already p g 1 's re dy done and much more
is under contemplation if the snow holds
off a short time. I notice ibis branch of
farm labor is rapidly Doming to the front
as a practical necessity to insure oilmen
for next year's crop, and at corn fodder
is come to stay, I feel sure the more this
is studied and tried the mora it will be
'planted. I have been feeding eight head
of cattle on one aore of corn for six weeks
and have plenty wore to feed ten bead
until Christmas besides feeding my
eight Chester hogs too. Here I might
say, with good green clover or aim silage,
I could winter, with a Tittle bran or shorts,
bogs, cattle or sheep much more cheaply
than the old way, as corn is much
cheaper than roots and all stook eat it
well -Many changes are baking plane.

much improved in health. He 'peaks
highly.of the sunny South and it is hint.
