OniT.—Early last Tuesday morning Geo. W. Haycroft passed to his reward after a protracted illness from that nn - conquerable disease, consumption. He was born in Albany, N. Y., on September 13th 1861 and along with his parents came to this locality over thirty years ago. When he grew up he learned the trade of a tinsmith at Clinton and was a first-class mechanic. Along with his brother Thos. (who died over two years ago) he started business in Brussels as tinsmiths, stove dealers, &c. and did a profitable and very satisfactory trade. About the time his brother died George nontreated a bad oold whioh settled on his lungs the effeots of which were never overcome. A partnership was formed with Jas. Turnbull in 1887 and Mr. Uayoroft went to California for hie health spending the winter there but the benefit derived, if any, was superficial and decline was very noticeable on him after his return. During the illness of deceased he learned to trust iinplioitly in the Saviour•and looked forward to the Christian's home with a greet deal 'of satisfaction. The eubjeet of this notice was married to Mies Blanche Ross, his DOW bereft partner, in 1880. Two Child- ren, a son and daughter, are left with the mother. Mr. Haycroft WAS mliverselly respected both as a bueiness man and on account of his many social qualities and WO all feel the loss of our friend Hay. croft. He was a member of the Brussels Band for years and was also connected with the I.O.O.F., under (011098 auspices the funeral ceremnnv was conducted on Thursday of this week, Mrs. Haycroft and relations have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement. The Band would have attended the funeral es a body but the relatives preferred it otherwise.
