EwAN vs. BEATTIE BROS.-This was an action of replevin tried at our last Divi- sion Court and brought by the plaintiff for the return of n certain double nutter which tho plaintiff alleged to be his pro- perty by virtue of an exchange or trade made with the defendante and which the plaintiff couteuded was wrongfully taken out of his possession by the defendants. The defenoe was that the trade was not made with the plaintiff at all but with James Walker, a member of the late firm of Walker & Humphries. Judg- ment was reserved by His Elonor Judge Doyle until the 12th inet, when it was given in favor of the plaintiff with 91.00 damages for the wrongful taking of his property, and costs. A certain resident is said to have dropped a little money bo had bet on the remit. This is not the firer time he was "left" however. I.0. 0.
