corner to the river and no one can build '

of the Methodist Sabbath School were
held last Sunday and were unusually
snccesefoi, At 10:30 o'clock Rev. John
Scott, M. A., chairman of the Wingham
District, preached a very interesting and
moat nra0tical sermon to the children
from rile words found in the 7th chapter
of 5t. Matthew, 13th and 14th verses.
The children lead the singing. Instead
of the regular Sabbath 0011oo1 at 2:30 p.

with a very attentive audience. Short
addresses were given by Ilev. G•13, Howie,

in Gerrie, with a capaoity of 20,000
bushels, and will purchase. grain them
this fall and next winter. Tho Gorrie
people and farmers of that locality will

no doubt get the bulk of the wheat in
that district. -Isaac Fitepatriok is home
on a holiday visit from Goderich where
he has been employed as baker for sev-

In the circuit court at St. John, N.B.,
Mrs. Williams, of Portland, sued the
town for $2,000 damages for injuries to
herself by falling on the sidewalk. Then
her husband claimed $5,000 for the loss
of society during her convalescence/. The
jury awarded 3500 to the wife and $100
to the husband.
