Wo are pleased to notice the spirit evinced by n large number of our towns- peoplein connection with the contem- plated celebration on Monday, July 2nd. It cannot be a failure if we work united- ly and systematically, the old saying "A long pull, a strong pull and a pull alto- gether" holding good yet. It is to our interest as Brusselites to look after home first and see that while we act neighbdr- Iy with adjoining towns that we do not lees sight of the necessity of taking care of our own interest,. We hope there will be a large attendance at the public meeting on this (Friday) evening to com- plete the necessary arrangements for the celebration. The program should be as deversified as possible so as to prove at- tractive to the largest possible number. Let us talk it ep and invite our friends and neighbors to town on that day and have great, big rousing Celebration. THE Brandon Sun sayer -A very grati- fyingfeatnre of affairs in this province jest now is the prevailing and increasing feeling of contentment everywhere notice- able. Everyone in the country feels that a great change has taken place, Values of every kind have been appreciated. Lands are acquiring fixed values, with prospects of immediate advancement. More transfers and changes have taken place within a few weeks than did in an equal number of moths previously. Con- sequent upon this there is a growing feel. tug of confidence that affords all the greatest encouragement. Gloomy fore- bodings too often indulged in in the past have given place to bright anticipations, and the future halds out hopeful promise. There is now a confidence that the man who sows will reap. Afresh inspiration has been infused, and the mostgratifying results are looked for• * * We are amend that the electorate generally approves the acts and expressed inten- tions of the Greenway administration, Tbers is no reason to imagine that they wish to return to the old order of things. Ivor is there any desire to change for the sake of change. We but vofee the senti- ment of the community when we express the desire to See what the Government can and will do. If they only pursue the linea on which they have started all will be well satisfied, regardless of name and of previous predictions. There seems, therefore but one course to pursue, to prove what we now have and hold them responsible. Canadian 'Verve's. It costa from 51,003 to 51,200 per day to run the Gilmore Band.
