Dam. -On Wednesday of last week the
father of oar t„wusman, I. 0. Richards,
died at bis home in Goderich township,
aged 78 years. The old gentleman had
been a hard worker all his life. The
-funeral took place on Friday. The
widow of the deceased and her daughter
are visiting with Mr. Richards, in town,
for ti shark time.

took place last Friday evening on the
Maitland rink here. After a very close
contest Johnston won by a few feet.
The 50 laps were skated in about 12 min.
