naded Jas. McAlpine, and was generous-
ly treated to an oyster supper. The hoys
speak in the highest terms of the treat-

Gone To REST.—Monday evening Mar-
garet O., beloved wife of James Bell was
called away from time leaving behind
Ler two little ohildren, the youngest a
babe 8 weeks old. The deceased was
united in matrimony to her bereft part-
ner about three years ago at the parental
home near Monkton. They moved at
once to Brussels where they made a Targe
circle of friends. Mrs. Bell's illness
though brief was severe and death was a
happy release. The funeral was on Wed•
Beedey afternoon, the interment beiug
made at Elma Centre cemetery. Mir.
13e11 has the sympathy of the community
in his sore bereavement.
TRE editor of the Atwood Bee recently
purchased the office end residence al tach•

get married. Here's what he says :—"A

The Sabbath sohool annual examination
was held in the church on Wednesday
afternoon. The subjects of examination
embraced two nraotieal teachings taken
from each lesson during the past year ;
also n knowledge of the be dm of the
bible, with a brief statement of their con-
tents. The pastor gives prizes to the
two pupils having the most o•Inplete
lists of sermon topics preached from dur-
ing the year, and which the scholar
moat have personally heard. The prizes
to the sucoessful competitors in the
school examination are the gift of G. A.
Deadman.

folks who had missionary mite boxes for
1892. When the boxes were opened in

We are sorry to hear that J. A. Young'
and his estimable family, after a reel -
damn of ten years here, intend removing
from this place and will become residents
of Mount Forest. Mr. Young will have
a general agency including Grey and
Dufferiu oountie,' and a portion of Wel-
lington. He has had four years experi-
ence with the Ontario Mutual and has
proved himself to be a most successful
oanvanser. They twill move to their new
home next month.

in the Township Hall on the 21st iuet, in
which the whole Division took an native
part. Besides an abundant supply of
oysters there were edibles of all desorip-
tiuns. Atter all present had the wants
of the iuner•man supplied, the tables
were cleared and an excellent program
was carried out. Reeve Milne occupied
the chair in a very able and efficient
manner. Addresses were given by Bev..
Mr, egg and A. Panabaker. About 300
persons were present.
