He was unmarried, he and his brother James, two .years his junior, bay. ing kept bachelor's hall on the 5th line for years. Mr. Baines was born in York- shire, England. When ho came to Can. ndtt he located in Esquesing township, Wellington Co., whore he resided for about ten years and then moved into Morris township about 35 years ago. The deceased had a stroke of paralysis about a year ago and never fully got over the elleots of it. His end was peace. fol. Bishop, formerly of this town- ship, who has been teaching in Norwood, is ill with fever at Peterboro' hospital.
