With last week's issue the East Huron
Gazette completed the first year or its
existence. That the business men of
this pinee were not mistaken in their
opinion that a well conducted paper,
though a second one, was a necessity and
a good investment of their stoney, is
shown by the fact that it has been
liberally patronized by advertisers ttnd
the sabseription list has reached a num•
bar far greater than any papers publish•
ed here previously enjoyed. The Gazette
bas been well received by the people of
this section and has made friends with
all classes. The evidences all go to show
that it has come to stay.

Mise Lizzie Moore left for Ripley on
Saturday. She intends spending a few

liam Baines, an old time resident of
Morris township, passed away, aged 00
years. He was unmarried, he and his
brother James, two .years his junior, bay.

shire, England. When ho came to Can.

Wellington Co., whore he resided for
about ten years and then moved into
Morris township about 35 years ago.
The deceased had a stroke of paralysis
about a year ago and never fully got
over the elleots of it. His end was peace.

James McKay, 10th con., paid nature's
debt. She was in her 711 year. The
funeral took plane on Wednesday.

with a lamp knee which was occasioned
by striking it against some object. We
hope he will soon be all right again.
Robert Strachan, who has been in To.
ronto for several weeks undergoing medi-
cal treatment for his eyesight, is im-
proving nicely mud is expected home this
week.
Tho Methodists of the 10th eon. have

church. The school house which has
been used for a meeting house is too
small.
We notice with pleasure that our friend
J. M Godfrey, late of Delgrave, has won

ship, who has been teaching in Norwood,

On November 23rd W. F. Schnook, of
this township, and Mre. Priscilla Att-
ridge, of Elmo., were united in marriage
in Ohrist's cburuh, Listowel, by the in.

friends for their happiness.

A meeting to discuss Township matters
