The Quebec) Legielature has been call- ed to meet on Deo. 2915. A rather singular discovery has been made by the police at Montreal while on the lookout for unlicensed liquor estab- lishments, 911ebeen0 and other places, where men and boys spend Sunday, in. etead of being at home with their fami- lies. The officers had seen drunken men reeling out of Dandy shops, but when the place was visited and searched no signs of liquor could be found. Last Sunday, however, the police made a find. It ap• poare that the proprietors of these planes had secured what may be called tin cor- sets, each arranged so as to contain a pint or more of the ardent. To this vessel was attached a long tube or conductor, and all the customer had to do was to pay 5 cants, pub the tube in his mouth and guzzle down the liquid. Two mouthfuls cost 10 cents, and when the customer had finished his draught the dealer had only to tutu off the tap, button rip his coat and the operation was over. 1¢AR.-e?-e?
