Curlosiettes of the Bible.
The following Bible curiosities are said
to have been gained by the study of the
good boolt by the Prince of Granada,
heir apparent to the Spanish throne dur•
tog his 83 years' imprisonment ab the
Plana of Skulls Prison, Madrid :-
In the Bible the word Lord is found
1,853 times ; the word, Jehovah, 0,855
times, and- the word reverence but once,
and that in the 9th verge of the 111th
Psalm, The eighth verse of the 118th
Psalm is the middle verse of the Bible.
The ninth verse of the 8th chapter of
Esther is the Longest verse in the Bible,
The 35th verse, ilei chap. St. John i8
the shortest. In the 107th Psalm four
verses are alike -the 8th, 15013, 21st and
81st. Each verse of the 188th Psalm
ends alike. No names or words of
more than 6 syllables are found in the
Bible. The 87th ohapter of Isaiah, and
the 19th chapter of 2 Kings are alike.
Tho word girl mourn but once in the
Bible, and that in the third verse and
third ohapter of Joel. There are found
in both par's of the Bible 8,586,488 let -
tare, 783,393 words, 31,373 verses, 1,189
chapters and 66 books. The 26th chap.
of the Aote of the Apostles is the finest
chapter to read. The most beautiful
chapter in the Bible is the 23rd Psalm.
The four most inspiring promises are
John 4 : 2 ; John 6 :37 ; Matthew 11:28;
and Psalm 37 :4. The first verse of the
60th chapter of Isaiah is the one for the
new converts. All who flatter themselves
with vain boastings of their perfection
should learn the 6th chapter of Matthew.
All humanity should learn the 6th chap.
of St. Luke from the 1211 verse to its
ending.
