We refer to the marriage of his daughters, MISE Nellie E., and Miss Jennie J., the former to G. A. Halliday, general merchant, of Brussels, and the latter to G. A. Found, hardware mar- °bant, of Whitechurch. The marriage ceremony, which made four joyous hearts beat as doable one, was performed by Rev. J. S. Henderson, of Carmel Presby- terian resbyterian church, and very shortly after• wards the happy couples drove into the village to catch the express trains. Dickinson, Conservative candidate, held a political meeting in Brussels Town Hall. There was a large attendance as Sir James Grant, of Ottawa, was announced to be present. He did not show up, however, owing to illness, it was stated. H. Den. his took the chair and filled the position satiefaoborily. The speakers were Post- master Farrow ; 0.1'. Blair, as tepee - senting Dr. McDonald ; and Mr. Dickin- eon. Mr, Denman declined to speak owing to his time being reduced. Mr. Dickinson attempted to make capital of an editorial in Tun PosT concerning the markets but in hie eagerness to do so showed his unmanliness and unfairness by omitting to read the introduction or paragraph following the report.
