The Walton oorrespondent to the
Herald took up a decidedly sentimental
Armin last week ; and truly we are per-
suaded that there has net been in the
past, and isnot to -day a theme more
articulated to attract the general public
than that one dealt with by the Herald
soribe. Iu proof of this we take for the
first his own testimony. Full well he
remembers in the years of long ago bow
the nestling and clinging of his fair part-
ner made "hopes spring eternal" ; and
in proof of the second we take the popu-
larity his writings gained for the Herald,
the popular salute last week being "Did
you see the Herald 0" If the writer
had taken up the School question it
would have attraction only for the de-
mented politioian, but with Love it ie a

epistle that there is a peoularity about
Love, that is, that those once nffeoted are
liable to a succession of relapses or at-
tacks, It must have been long since his
first attack and now we have suilioient
ovidsnoe of its return at a very recent
date. However thie may be, we would

little jealous of the young man from the
Bookies ere he turned his attention to
the observing of matters more material
than Love. Poor old follow 1 I wonder
at you being able to calm yonr troubled
brow eeffioiontly to receive that welcome
visitant which you speak of as "repose."
But exon after you had left the happy

was but slight and you Will pardon me

Wanes To vers.—As the arrangement
and numbers of pollingplaces in Morris
for the. Dominion eleotion is not similar
to the municipal, the following list will
he of praotioal interest to readers of Tns
POST. The dividing line is the centre
sideroad. The oentre division, Township
Hall, runs morose the township, taking
all of con. 5 and the north half of con. 6.
Polling places will be :
No. 17—Gosman's sohool house ;
No. 18—Button's school house ;
No. 19—Township Hall •
No, 20—Iabisber'e school house;
No. 21—Jamestown.
This gives two polling places in the
north, one in the oeutre and two in the
south. The numbers oorrespond witb
the printed numbers on the Dominion
voters' list.
OoenaoTlox.—In reference to an item
that appeared in Tun Pon last week Oon•
corning George Soctt, there are a few
points that require correction as they are
false. Mr. Scott bas resided in this lo•
amity for the past 5 years, sines his re-
turn from Manitoba, and good authority
eau testify that he has received the best
of care and attention both in sickness
and health. As to his labor, he had nev-
er done any work of any consequence
outside of occasional chores, as he saw
fit. The property in Manitoba is at the

ing him, who will settle the money ad-
vanced on it. The old gentleman has
often been asked by members of his own
family, in Dakota, to go and reside with
them but he declined, preferring to live
here. He left his nephew's of his own
accord and in opposition to their wishes
and that he is where be is is not their
fault. You will confer a favor by pub-
lishing the name of your informant, so
that those who know the statement to be
false may learn who the party is.
