A BoUSeELITE complains that a few
youths, who should •be taught better
manners if they don't know them, made
themselves very obnoxious by calling on
said resident and staring in through the
windows, and as a grand finale to the
program went to the Stable' and took two

the parlor window, breaking a large pane
of glass. The names of some of the com-

DEATH,—On the morning of Sunday,
April 12th, Annie, wife of A. Rivers,
Teeewatar, passed away after anillnese of
only a few hours. Mre, Rivera' maiden
name was Smith, she being the•daughter
.of George Smith, of the village of Erin.
She was of a, bright, lively and agreeable
disposition and was much esteemed and
respected by neighbors and friends. Her
sodden death at the early age of 32 years
and 6 months, leaving behind her a little
boy and an infant daughter, is a crush-
ing blow to Mr. Rivers, to whom the
hearts of the aommnnity go out in sym•

FRIDAY is Arbor day in connection with
the Public schools of Ontario. The Edu-
cational Department has issued to the
rural eohools a program for Arbor Day.
The programa is compulsory and the day
will have to be observed in every sobool
'action. There are to be recitations and
music and the planting of shrubs and.
trees in the school grounds. The observ-
anoe of the day Is not compulsory in
urban municipalities. Hitherto teeobers
in rural sections have taught school on
Arbor Day or observed it by planting
trees, etc., just as they taw at. Now the
maple must with dile ceremony be plant.
od in the aohool ground, that the sight of
the maple leaf, our emblem dear, may
fire the rising generation with patriotio
pride.
