for a good figure. It was stated that the
purcheeer would plane the horse at $200.

TORONTO, April 7.- -Receipts at the To-
ronto cattle market to day were light -
19 cars, including 03 sheep au l l: mem and
108 hogs. Baying for Montreal was
slow ; only four oars were taken for that
market. Butchers' cattle were dull ; the
quality was not very good • best cattle
sold at Sec to 3}c per pound ; poor and
medium at 210 to 2:jc per pound. Pro-
spects are not encouraging. Stooltersand
fenders were slow, et 2,1c to 2/c for better
class of half -fat feeders. Sheep and
lambs quiet ; yearling sheep sold at 4ec
to 50 per pound. Very few Spring lambs
are corning m and few are wanted. There
is no demand for sheep ; they aro nom-
inal, at 27e to 3o per pound. Calves dull,
at $4 to 36 each. Milch °owe and spring.

EAST BUFFALO, April 7.—Cattle—Re-
ceipts small and all consigned through,
and only a tow old lots were on sale that
werehed over from yesterday. The
geuoraltone of the merkob was steady
and firm, and all wore gleaned up. Hogs
—Receipts 10 oars ; market fairly active;
Yorkers, fair to choice, 34 to $4,10 ;
roughs, common bo good, $8.10 to 113.40 ;
pigs, thrum=to fair, $8 90 to 34. Sheep
and lambs—Receipts, only two cars ;
market fair to active ; lambs, choice to
prime, $4 90 to 35 ; Dulls and common,
$8.50 to $4.26 ; choice to selected export
wethere, 34 to $4.25 ; culls and common,
$2.60 to 33.76. Cattle closed firm—all
sold. Bogs closed firm -all sold. Sheep
and lambs aloeed firm for handy grades ;
heavy sheep vary dull, and three loads
held over ; heavy lambs of ever 100
pounds also very dull.
