ADDEEen AND PuesENT.trio.l. Monday
evening of this week the membereof Rev.
R. Paul's plass in connection with the
Methodist aural waited on him, at
Victoria Cottage. J. A. Creighton read
the following address and Thos. Curry
presented a fine family Bible :-
To Bter'. Richard Paul :
BEeoxCTED SIn,-We, the members of
your Sunday morning class, embrace) the
Present opportunity of congratulating
you 03, this the fiftieth anniversary of
your Spiritual Birth, your consecration to
the Divine service and adoption into His
family, also to tender to you this volume
of the Sacred Law, as a small memento
of out esteem and tender regard. It has
for over half a century been your guide
and counsellor and we pray that it still
may be your solace, daily comforter and
companion on your family altar. We,
the members of your class, highly and
affectionately appreciate your stimulating
and sympathetic counsel and advice to
us. Your long experience of the guiding
and sustaining power of Divine Love in
your long Christian life, which has
been so exemplified by your daily life
and example has been an inspiration to
your class and a credit to our beloved
Methodism. Wo pray that Ibe wings of
Divine Love may ever overshadow you
and your highly esteemed partner in life,
and that in the sweet by.atd-byewe may,
as a class, be so unspeakably happy as to
meet in 'our Father's Lome above and
join in the anthem of love and gratitude
to our Saviour and our Lord, who re•
deemed us by his blood and brought us
sofa home to the haven,of eternal rest.
In behalf of the class, /
Taos. Moons,
Taos. Caner,
J. A. Cnuronrore.
Mr, Paul replied to the above by saying ;
"Fifty years ago today I was converted
to God and, by Divine Grace, from that
clay to this I have been kept on the
highway of Life. No language of mine
oon express the deep emotions of my
heart -the gratitude I feel to God for my
salvation ; His great love to me in my
protection for a hell a century ; Ole
guiding hand and all the rich supplies of
His Grace. I cannot tell you, the mem-
bers of my ahurob oleos, how much I ap-
preciate your kind feeling manifested to
me and Mra. Paul in your visit to our
home and in the presentation of snob a
beautiful copy of the Divine Cord, with
the prayer that it may still be the guide
of our lives. I want to say to you that
every good that we pewees, every com-
fort we enjoy, domes to us through the
loving kindness of out Heavenly Father.
I hope that every member of the class
will be kept by the power of God unto
eternal salvation." The evening was
spent in the most enjoyable manner -in
prayer, praise and testimony, and all
weothome the butter for having had
nob a meeting,
