DIED.—Last Sabbath George Best, of
Hellen, passed over to the great majori-
ty, leaving a wife and one child to mourn
his demise. The Cause of death was
heart failure. Mr. Best was a ooutfrn to
Geo. Best, of Brussels, and wast very
highly esteemed. The funeral took plea°
on Wednesday.

Its flight, Deceased had been ill for
three weeks from typhoid fever and her
ease was more serious than usual from
the fact that their only son, Albert, had a
month's sickness of the same nature,
which resulted in his death on Nev, 9th.
Mre, Woods was born in this County and
was married to her now bereft partner 26
years ago. She was 45 years of age and
'held in high esteem by all who knew her,
The funeral took place on Monday, Rev.
Mr. Mlles, of Lncknow, conducting the
service. Interment was made at Dnn-
pennon, where her son had been interred
on the 11th inst. Mr. Woods and one
daughter survive. The subject of this
notion was an aunt to Mrs. James Fox,
of Brussels. Mr. Fox attended the
funeral,

Torioxno, Nov. 26. --The market was
dull to -day and quiet ; a few cattle were
left in the pens at the western cattle
yards at the close. -Offerings to -clay
were 47 carloads, which included 955
sheep and lambs, 1,700 hogs, about a
dozen calves and nearly 20• cows. In
butcher's cattle trade was dull, and slow,
and quite a few cattle remained unsold.
Common bubobors cattle could hardly be
sold at all. These were quoted at from
1}e to 2e. per lb. Very 'few really good
cattle offered. Top prices paid was $8.-
85 per owl. for one ear load the best oat•
tie on the market. Choice cattle art
wanted. .The ruling figures for good cat•
tie were from 8o to Sao per pound, the
latter for choice, 'neap—There were
not so many in, and the market was
slightly firmer during the forepart of the
day, 290 to 80 being paid, as dealers re -
