evening and a jolly time spent by ail.

On Friday evening of last week a party
was given at the residence of Wm. Car-
nooban in honor of Mrs. Hubbard, of
Chicago, sister 0f Mrs. Carnochan. A
large number of the young folks were
present and the evening was spent in
dancing and games of various kinde in
which the, kind hostess took as active
part. The party broke up about 8 o'clook
and everybody went home wall pleased
with the kind and hearty -way in which
they were entektained by the hostess.
May she enjoy many more visits to this
neighborhood.
OBZT.-Friday of lost week an old real.

from whence no traveller returns in the
person of Alex. McDonald, lot 6, non. 4,
at the advanced age of 82 years, 8 months
and 12 days. Deceased was born in the
Pariah of Uriah, Rosesbire, Scotland,
and name to Canada in 1858 along with
his nephew, Donald Forsyth. Ile took
up the above mentioned lot on which he
continued to reside until he was called to
a better home. Mr.' McDonald was a
Presbyterian in religion and a Liberal in
politica, He was unmarried, his sister
leaping house for him antil Sher decease
Be years ago. He had been ill for about
Yee months but previous to that had
been afflicted with partial blindness
through cataracts for some time. Mr.
McDonald was a very enthusiastic
Scotehman, who loved to talk of his
native land. Ile was highly respected by
all who knew him. The funeral took
plane on ,Monday afternoon, Rev. John
Ross, B. A., conduoting the service. In.
terment was make at Brussels cemetery.
