At Spotton was climbing up into
the Mow in his barn ' when the ladder
gave away and he fell very heavily on the
barn floor, injuring himself rather severe-

now, and the service was never better;
the outside facilities are exceptionally

been made to hold really meritorious con-
certs and other entertainments, but ex-
perienoe has, unfortunately, demonstrated
that they cannot be made to pay.

British Columbia, where they will re-

this town.
James. Molvfilllen, of Goderioh town-
ship, has 400 bushels of white elephant
potatoes which are monsters. Six of
tete average large ones weighed 11 pounds
and one combination tuber touched five
pounde.
Robert Wallace, an able bodied old man,
claiming to bail from Exeter, who wanted
a mouth in jail that he might reoeive
medical treatment, was given a six
month% term, anoverdose he apparently
did not appreciate.
Capt. 'took and wife who have been in
charge of the S. A. here for the past few
weeks, have left owing to the ill -health of
the captain since coming to Goderioh.
The climate seemed to completely break
down an already impaired oonetitution.
Hence the removal.

Looking at them closely it is not hard to be-
lieve that some of them might have been made by
ants, so very small their step and so crooked their
way ; excitable little creatures that with all their
flurry never seem to get anywhere in particular,
and whose whole interest seems to be that of turn-
