Turnips are a, good orop in many parts of this township. Dunoan McDonald, 2nd con., had over 240 loads this Fall. Each load would easily run 25 bushels. As Mr. McDonald is an extensive stook raiser and feeder he will find opportunity of oleering up a large share of the 5,000 bushels. Last Wednesday afternoon a meeting of the patrons of Brussels cheese factory was held to dieoues whether the factory or the patrons should be the losers of the milk spoiled one day this Fall by the boiler plug blowing out. It was decided that the lose be shared half by, the patrons. This is quite a proper thing as Messrs. MoLauohlin ,k Harris have the milk haulers to pay for the day in addition. Missionary anniversary services were; held at Browntown last Sabbath after- noon. The deputation was Rev. William Baugh, of Auburn, and W. H. Kerr, of Tnn Pon, Brussels. Rev. W. Baugh, of Manchester, and W. H. Kerr, of Brussels, conducted service in Johneton'e ohurob last Sabbath. Both gentlemen delivered excellent missionary addreesee. Sheridan, of Morrie township, was.eleoted as County Clerk of Montmorenoy County, Michi- gan, by a neat majority over two other candidates. Mr. Sheridan has been in that locality for a number of years and the rule still appears to hold good that former Canons don't need to take a baok seat with the best of them. We wish Mr. Sheriden success. DIED IN MaNxToea.--Peter, eon of David Knight, 8th line, died of typhoid fever near Cypros, Manitoba, a few weeks ago, aged 37 years. He was a married man, hie wife being a daughter of Richard Stewart, of Egmondville, formerly of Morris. They were about sevenyears in the West.
