football was played on Viotoria Park here
last Saturday evening between the home
team and Atwood olab. The visitors,
who are an athletic looking lot of young
men, were no match for the excellent
combination work of Braesele club, who
won the match by a score of 4 goals to 0
without much trouble. C. Shaw was
credited with kicking two and Babb. Fer-

easeful social, in connection with Snox
church Christian Endeavor Society, took
place at the house of Philip Botz, 11th

which necessitated e. departure front the
intention of having the social in "Delgat•

looking in weather and numbers present
was more than oompeneated for in the

event occurred at the. residence of Wm.
Johneon, Lincoln A.ve., Thursday after-
noon, hoe 7013, when hie e1deat daughter,
Mies Minnie A,, was married to Ralph S.
Pelton, editor of the Atwood Bee, About
half -past three o'elook the oxpeotant
groom and hiseupporter were joined by
the bridesmaid, and while hilae Annie
King was playing the wedding march, the
sweet and blushing bride entered the 000M
leaning on her father's arm. Rev, J. A.
Banton performed the marriage ceremony
and soon two happy hearts beat as one.
Congratulatioue were theneiaendeil to
the handsome couple, containing whabee
of long life and happiness in their future
home, A few hours were then spent in
imolai merriment, after which the guests
were invited to the wedding dinner, wbioh
dgjeancr was truly a sumptuous repast,
The health and prosperity of the bride
being proposed and responded to, and al.
tor further congratulatory greetings the
happy couple left by the 6.01 0, P, R.
train for the West. The bride, who look-
ed her prettiest, was attired in a cream
hnneyuomb silk with lace, wreath of ros-
ee andtulle veil. Mise Maggie King was
beautifully robed in a pale blue henrietta,
carried a pretty bouquet of pinkroses and
ably performed her duties of bridesmaid.
Dr. Rica, of Atwood, anted asgroomsman.
The house was elaborately festooned with
flowers, and during the ceremony the
couple stood under a bell of pretty snow-
balls. The popularity of the bride could,
in a slight degree, be recognized by the
beautiful array of handsomeand valuable
presents, of which she was the recipient.
Among them was a pretty diamond
bracelet, a token from the groom, and the
bri'eti, mtid wee presented with a beauti-
ful ruby rine.
MoronioNIAL.-The Paisley Advocate
of last week contains the following non -
001010g a former well-known resident of
Brussels :-"Thai Paisley's fair daugh-
ters retain possession of the hearts of her
sous, even after they have removed far
from their native town, was exemplified
on Tuesday, when John A. Gilhuly, of
Morden, Manitoba, ,vas united in wedlock
to Miss Annie Hargreaves. Mr. Gilhuly
went to the West a number of years ago,
but left his heart in Paisley until this
week when he returned for it. The event
has been a topio of interest not only to
the immediate relatives of the contrast-
ing patties, but to a large circle of friends
for weeks past. This was accounted for
in part by the fact that both were raised
in Paisley and that each of them were
extremely popular with its people. Ow-
ing to the fact that the young couple
would have bo leave on the forenoon train,
the ceremony was performed early in the
forenoon. The guests were almost with•
out exception immediate friends of the
bride or groom, and numbered about 30.
Rev. J. R. Kennedy Bell officiated, and
the bride and groom were supported by
Miss Allis Wilson, of Toronto, and B.
Baird, of Port Perry, Miss Marian
Hargreaves and Master Mason Wilson
acted as maid of honor and page. After
the ceremony the company turned their
attention to the wedding breakfast, and
the interval between this and the depar-
ture for the station was filled in with the
proposal of toasts and replies to the same.
The presents were of exceptional beauty
and value. The happy couple left on the
forenoon traiu for Orangeville, and were
to take the boat at Owen Sound on Wed-
nesday. Though grudging the Lone
Land one of the beet and most amiable
young ladies in a town noted for the
number, beaaty and excellence of its
daughters, the Advocate extends cordial
congratulation, and wishes Mr. Gilhnly
and hie better three•foarths long life,
happiness and prosperity." The many '
friends of the bride in Brussels are a
unit in wishing her many years of Happi-
ne8s and prosperity.
