There is no doubb fie to the value of
good surphur when fed ocoaeionally to
stook, There is an old saying ',if sulphur
was sold at a guinea a lb, there would be
snore used," but there is a differentia in
sulphur and if there are any readers of
Tax PosT who think differently we world
like them to compare what we are selling
with some that is sold by that name.,
Our present stook is superior to anything
we have had for some time but we sell it
at the came price and at SPECIAL
RATES for stook purposes. It le recom•
ineaded as a preventatiou of iioe. At the
prloe we Gell it every farmer or owner of
stock can well afford to nee it.

church, Brussels :
DEAR FRInNDs,--I am glad to hear
through Rev. Dr. Warden that you have
decided to support one of our pupils and
I hope the youug man we have selected
for you will show his high appreciation
of your kindness by his diligence and hie
progress iu his studies. His name is
Albert Mertrud. Albert is an intelligent
young man who is aboot 18 years of age.
He was brought up near lake Megentio
in a very remote locality far from schools
and churches. His parents have left the
errors of Rome and they have become
faithful witnesses of the truth. Albert
has not only become a Protestant, but a
faithful servant of the Lord, who en-
deavors constantly to bring his
companions nearer to Jesus. His influ-
ence is verygood in our school and we
hope he will be in the hand of God the
means of bringing many Dottie from
darkness to the light of the Gospel.
Your pupil has been brought in our school
by one of our missionaries, who spends
every year a few months in the neigh.
boyhood of Like Magantic. Albert can
speak and read French and English
almost equally well but he is not far ad•
canoed in his studies for a young man of
his age because be bad not the opportun-
ity of going to school when he was young.
His intention in coming to Pointe•aux-
Trembles was not exactly to prepare
himself for a course of studies, but
especially for acquiring more knowledge
in the Scriptures in order to be able to
speak to Roman Catholics witb more ad•
vantage and to answer their questions
and their arguments in a more convinc-
ing way. I hope the Lord will bless our
young friend and that He will prepare
him for a career of usefulness. Thanking
you most sincerely for your kindness
towards our mission eehool, I remain
Yours very truly,

The statistics of the hay trade of Great
Britain for last year, whish was one of
failure of the home orop and of conse-
quent scarcity, have just been published
They will interest Canadians, ae they
show, that Canada to a greater extent
than any other country, with the iexoep-
tion of the United States, has taken ad-
vantage of the situation to extend her
trade. The quanity of bay imported
during the year was 268,050 tons, com-
pared with 61,287 tons the previous year.
Of the whole quantity the United States
supplied 101,182 tone, against 11,588 in
1892 ; Canada, 68,175 tons, against
13,120 ; Holland, 28,882 tons ; Russia,
27,694 tone ; Argentine States, 24,594
tone, and Australia, 49 tone. The im-
portations from Holland and Russia are
regarded with muoh apprehension, the
fear being that they may bring disclose,
eepeaially the cholera, which has been
more or less prevalent in both countries.
English consumers express a hope the
Canadian and American exporters will in
future discard wire binding, as there is
danger of the animals from the swallow.
ing of fragments of wire which are
occasionally found in the bay which has
bean tied up.
