LITTLE STARS MIesroN BAND.—The L.
S. M. B. held their fourth anuivereary
entertainment Saturday last in the Maas
rooms of Melville church, lbs President,
Mrs, Richardson, sod Viae President,
Bliss Rose, presiding. A committee of
the large girls, with the exeoutive ability
of Kate Smith as oonvencr, undertook the
preparation of the literary program, and
class room arrangements, and no small
amount of credit is due this committee
as testified to by the many parents and
friends of the Mission Band on viewing
the tastefully decorative evergreen arches,
lighted up with silver stars, and mottoes,
and the general inviting appearance of
the room with its tables of palma, plants
&o. About seventy bright and happy
little feces presented tbemaelves, almost
all taking some part in the program, and
without a single exoeption rendering their
selections clearly and expeditiously,
Miss Ada Mainprioe and Mies Jessle Otto.
Lanohlin, being effioient aceompauists to
the singing. GeorgieRo•s, the Secretary,
gave a very fall meant of the year's
coarse, together with a retrospective
glance over the four years' work.
This report tells of the 'literary work On
India, oouduoted by Mrs. Riolharduon,
dealing with the geographical and social
condition of India, and the missionary
work in all ibs aapeobs. The Band had
devoted every almond meeting to sewing,
pasting, &o., resulting in a supply of 3
quilts, 50 scrap books, 6 needle books, 2
wbistlee and 16 tops valued by the W. F.
M. S. at $12.20. This very entertaining
report was oonoluded with the Secretary's
desire that throughout the year each
member of the Misalon Band had remem•
bared that
Every little mite,
Every little measure
Helps to spread the light,
Helps to swell the treasure.
God entrusts to all
Talents few or many,
None so young and small
That they have not any.
May Skene, the Treasurer, reported the
omountof the year's contributions, minas
expenses to be $17.44, and tactfully added
the following true reminder :
Its only a drop in the bucket,
But every drop will tall,
The bucket would soon be empty
Without a drop in the well.
God lovstb a cheerful giver,
Though the gift be poor and smell,
What does he think of hie children
Who never give at all ?
