The four d bridges erected this year were all done , in good time and are quite satisfactory. We have done a great amount of repair. , lug to old bridge,/ and approaches, They ; are now in good state of repair for this • eeas0tn of the year but will require to , have some protection made for the next freshets. All the iron and steel bridges d have been painted with best material, those on the Go. Boundaries were also g painted, each Co. paying half expeneee. Bridge lumber has been very scarce all . Summer and it will be necessary to pro. vide a oonsiderable quantity next Winter s for the coming seaeon. I have examined an oli bridge situate South or Wiughem, 0 on the Boundary line between the town- a ships of Morrie and East Wewenosb. It s is one of "prairie" bridges over the Matt - • land river ; ie in a very unsafe state and may be parried away by the next large freshet, I would recommend you to have it rebuilt by steel bridge, and con. orote abutments, bridge to be one span of o about 100 feet long, wirb 18 roadway. If you eo decide plana, specifications and ti tenders should be in so that the °entreat could be let at the January gelation of the Coarsen.
