expeot to reach Dawson in about three

is still in the Klondike. The milling

person of William Brown on Wednesday

at times his condition was apparently
better, the dteeaee was making slow but
deadly progreee until death relieved him
of his sufferings. His age was 96 years
and 17 days. The deceased was a mem-
ber of the Methodist church and also of
the Independent Order of Foresters, in
which Order he catried a $1,000 Ineur.

street, an operator, yawned, and wee

fainted. A doctor was summoned, and

A second meeting of the trustees, mem.
bare and congregation of the Lambeth
Methodist church was held to con -
eider the advisability of building a new
church next year, After the opening
exoerotses, the chairman, Rev. J. S.
Fisher, laid the queetioo fairly before
the people, and a motion soon carried
unanimously, "That we build a new
church where the old Sunday school
room now stands." A enbeoription list

to $2,030. Rev. Mr, Fisher le well known
to many in this locality.
Reoently the marriage of Kao Kan,
of Formosa, to Mies Bella McKay, Seo•
and daughter of Rev. Dr, G. L. McKay,
the famous Canadian missionary, was
announced. Now the marriage of Mary
Helen, eldest daughter of the missionary,
to a eon of Tan He, one of the native
preachers took place. The marriage
ceremonies took plane in the missionary's
house, and preaobers, etudente and Bib'e
women were present. Rev. Mr. Geoid
assisted in the ceremony. Koa Kaw
will be remembered as the young China-
man who accompanied the missionary
on hie last trip to this country. These
marriages are important, as it praotioally
aettlee the question of Rev. Mr. MaKay's
sojourn in that oonntry. Hie own wife
being a native, and hie daughter marry
ing a native, family ties will be stranger
than anywhere else, and be will probably
live and die there.
A daring bank robbery was parpebra•
ted at Bowmanville early on Saturday
morning of last week when the
Standard Bank was robbed of over 111,-
000. There was seven or eight men in
the gang, who thoroughly understood the
business of eafe.oraoking, The building
is a brink etruoture built in 1894 and is
equipped with the lsteet and beet item
proved burglar proof appliances. The
burglars first went to the police office
mud seized the night watchman Beery
Metcalfe whom they blindfolded, gagged
