BY•LA' DEFEATED,—Much interest was balm in the vote Wednesday of last weals on the Bylaw to raise $19,500 for waterworks and electric light purposes and a fnll vote was polled. • The results came very quickly after the olose of the poll and showed a majority of 71 against the Bylaw on a total vote of 427. The canvas for and against had been growing in interest as polling day approaohed and all day Wednesday the advocates and opponents of the By-law worked hard, very few votes being overlooked.
