been nominated as the Conserva-
tive candidate in Centre Toronto at the
approaching Dominion bye -election.
The Governor-General assented to the
orders in Oounai3 appointing Senator
McInnes Lieutenant Governor of British
Columbia and William Templeman
Senator.
The Department of the Interior has
received a report from Melee Walsh,
doted at Skagaway. He states that he
has got all his supplies over the pass and
is now on the way to Selkirk.
Hon. George W. Ross states that in
fattire progressive agriculture will be
more systematically taught in the Public
eahools of Ontario. Teaobors passing
through the Normal Schoola have for
some time past been drilled to practioal

sohools in the Provinoe, whioh are attend-
ed by 1,500 teaohors, the department will
also try to give instruction in a quiet way
by means of a course of lectures every

of James McGill, of East Wawanosh, on
Wednesday evening, Nov. 10th, when his
eldest daughter, Mies Lizzie, was united
in the holy boucle of matrimony to Peter
Robinson, of the same township. The

invited guests. Mies Nellie Robinson,
sister of the groom, was bridesmaid, and
James McGill, brother of the bride, was
groomsman. The bride wore a cream
