to St. Anthony's cemetery of frank Le -
Bon, who died on Thursday after a short
illness. The deceased was sixty-six yea=s
of age and cattle to this country from

Chatham, and being an export machinist
secured employment with Hyslop and
Ronald, at that time shipbuilders here.
Some time after the firm dissolved and
Mr. Lanett went with Mr. Ronald to
Brussels. About five years ago, however,
he returned to Kent, taking up his resi•
dense on the third cou0eseion, Chatham
township. The deceased was wedded to
?lies Thibolleau, the daughter of U.
Thibocleau, formerly of Dover, now of
Tilbury, who survives him, Deceased
was an honorable man end gained many

day night the spirit of John Bird, Queen
street, took its flight. Deceased had been
ill for the past few months with cancer

to stay the progress of the disease proved
unavailing. Mr. Bird waa a native of
the Co, of Fermanagh, Ireland, where he

About 35 y0are ago he was married to
Mise Mary A. Kells, who pre•deoeased
him 5} years ago. The family came to
Canada in 1870 and resided at Cranbroolr
for 5 years • then to Morrie township for
10 years and then became residette of
Brussels. In Mr. Bird's earlier years he
had been in the hotel business, but being
of a speculative turn bad made four tripe
to America before the family crossed the
Atlantic. He made considerable money
in hie business ventures, bot also lost
heavily by misplaced confidence. The
old gentleman was a typical eon of Erin
and wee full of genuine wit sad good
bnmor. For a man of his years 110 was

result of th” splendid health he always
