All the way from Chicago come the following etnozae to show that, though not on bis native Boil, the heart of a son of Britain is filled with love for hia Queen and gratitude for her long reign over ue. They are written by Fred. Balmer, of 868 Thirty-fifth street, Ohi• cago, Ill„ who dedicatee them to her Majesty Queen Victoria, and has applied for a copyright. For many years our National Anthem has been a national prayer, and Mr, Balmer's anthem is after the manner of thanksgiving that God has heard our prayer and spared us our sovereign. Here is the new one :— Our God has beard our prayer, For tender love and pare, To save our Queen, By His almighty arm, Proteobed her from harm, Through danger, storm and cairn, Has saved our Queen. Throughout her vast domain Echoes the sweet refrain, God save our Queen. Worthy the name she bears, Worthy the crown she wears, Fervent her people's prayers, God save oar Queen. While hangs lite's elender thread, May angels guard her head, God save our Queen. Her reign on earth when done, Life'e battle fought and won, Those blessed words "Well done," From God our ging. The stanzas are intended to be sung to the old air of "God save our Queen," and Mr. Belmar expreaese the hope that they maysung at the close of religious services. He further magnanimously adds :— I should have stated it is not my in- tention to dispense altogether with the old anthem which we have been singing so long," And oonolndes thus feelingly :—"Those who may venture to try it over to the old tune for which it has been expressly written, will be moved almost bo emotion by the pathos it brings." 017R QUEEN'S DIAMO11'iD JUBILEE. Ring in her Diamond Jubilee 1 All honor to our Queen 1 Our Queen Victoria, thauks to God, Our eyes this day have seen ; Thro' all the years of weal and woe She lives beloved and true ; A woman every inch a Queen, The Queen a woman, too. And now the Queen thinks of her poor And plane that earnest veay, That they may see she thinks of them On that auspicious day. God bleae our land, and bless our Queen, And keep her long in life, To rule in peace and use her power Against unholy strife ; And when her long and happy life Shall close in joyieI ponos, Great heavenly King 1 receive our Queen, Where love can never cease. A JUBILEE IIYM'LN. God eavo our Graoioue Queen, Long live our noble Queen, God save the Queen. "OH, KING OF KINGS," The Jubilee hymn, composed by the Bishop of Wakefield, and approved by Her Majesty, has been set to music. by Sir Arthur Sullivan, and was to be used on Sunday and thereafter, immediately before morning and evening prayer, or after the third oolloot, or immediately before the Office of the Holy Communion. Ob, Icing of Rings, Whose reign of old Hath been from everlasting, Before whose throne their crowns of gold, The white•robed saints are meting ; While all the shining courts on high With angel songs are ringing, Oh, let Thy children venture nigh, Their lowly homage bringing. For every heart made glad by Thee, With thankful praise is swelling ; And every tongue, with joy set free, It's happy theme is telling. Thou hest been mindful of Thine own, And lo 1 we Como confessing— 'Tie Than bast dower'd our queenly throne With Bixby years of blessing. 011, royal heart, with wide embrace For all her children yearning ; Oh, happy realm, such mother -grace With loyal love returning I Where England's flag flies wide unfurled, All tyraut wrongs repelling, God make the world a better world For man's brief earthly dwelling 1 Lead on, 0 Lord, Thy people still New grace and wisdom giving, To larger love, and purer will, And nobler heights of living.
