looked at one time as if the visitors were

in the latter part each club soared and

played well but Brussels played winning
ball from the start. The teams were

large attendance of spectators. Brussels
has struck what loolts very much like a
winning gait and bids fair to secure the

Reeve represented Brussels School Board
in applying for it, grant from the County
to supplement the Legislative allowance
towards Continuation classes in the pub-
lic schools. The County Council, wisely
we think, almost unanimously concurred.
Co. Councillor Mooney was an enthliai-

consideration of the questieu. The fol-

Goon CONCERT.—A fair sized audience
attended Miss O'Connor's concert on
Friday evening of last week, and all were
well pleased with the entertainment.
The first item on the program Was the

Jas. Ballantyne played the part of the
baobelor and Mies Mary Rose acted as
sorceress in capital style. Geo. Watt
made a splendid negro waiter, Miss
Edna Curtis, of Blybh, read lite explan•

formers. About 20 persons took part in
thio petformetnoe and all did exceedingly
well. "The Quarrel among the Flowers"
was the name of a short cantata nicely
given by 7 little girls, This was followed
by "The Maypole Moe," by 16 little
girls, and was splendidly done. Mies
Curtis rend a Scotch 'election entitled
"Gavin Biree," which so delighted the
eudientie that she was recalled, and she
kindly responded with "The Dead Pussy
Cat," wbiah she gave in capital 01y1e.
Miss Curtis is an elocutionist of a high
order and may alwaye be sure of a warm
reception from a Brussels audience,
The "Mulligan 0081(10," 7 in number,
then metalled on to the stage, 111 enamel,
singing their song and were making quite
a "hit" with the audience when 7 of the
"Skidmores" appeared on the scene with
blaoltened faces and clothes to match and
completely eclipsed tate "Mulligans,"
Their fancy drill, etc,, was Pooh enjoy.
