Another pian for turning to account forces of nature as vet dimly understood is reported from Scant navla, 'Where a savant hoe discovered a method of con, vesting turf into coal. The turf is placed in retorts and gradually heated to 250 degrees, The retorts are then closed and the temperature kept up for seven hours.
