The December sitting of this mart for
the County of Huron opened on Tuesday
afternoon of last week before Hie Honor
Judge Doyle, and after calling the roll of
the petty and grand jurors, the latter re
tired and elected G. 0. Petty, of Henmall,
as their forpmao, the grand jury being as
follows : Wilson Evans, Grey ; David
Errington, Wawanosh ; 3. R. Govenlock,
Seaforth ; William Haaoke, Goderiob tp. ;
J. W. Irwin, Clinton ;Rich. Irwin, Olin•
ton : Alex. Murdoch, Heneall ; Wm.

Toauthorise the Corporation of the said 1ri1-
lage to borrow the sum of 95000.00 and to
provide for the issusof debentures for
that amount and to lend such amount as
one be obtained from the sale of bhe said
debentures, to William Lockridge and
John Lookridge, and such persons tee may
beanoolated with them for n working
capital to be used in the development of
a woolen mill business in the said Village
of Brussels.
Whereas the said William Lookridge and
John,Lookridge have made application to the
Municipal Council of the said Village of
Brussels, stating that they are prepared to
puroh0se the property known as the Howe
Woolen Mill and fit same out as a one -set mill
with new and modern machinery and active-
ly operate same to the extent of its rreason•
able them the Aum fa Five ThousandaDollars
in Debentures of the said Corporation, bear-,
Mg interest at four per cent. and repayable
in ten equal annual instalments of principal
and interest, the said Ooporatton to pay the
interest on said debentures.
And whereas the establishment of the said
Woolen Mill business, will enhance the value
of the property in the said Village, and will
meter -Lily increase the local trade thereof,
and it is considered desirable by the said

as follows:-

Village of Brussels shall make a loan of
$8000.00 in debentures of the said Corporation
bearing four per cent. and repayable in ten
equal annual instalments of principal and
interest to the said William Lockridge and
John Lookridee and such persons ori may be
associated with them, and for the purpose of
raising said sum debentures of the said Vil-
lage of preemie to the amount of 55000.00 as
aforesaid in sums of not less than 3100.00 each
shall be issued on the 10th day of January,
A. D.,1803, each of said debentures shall be
dated on the day of the issue thereof and
shall bepayable in ten equal anneal instal-

said Village of Brussegls the sum of 66818.45 for
the

5. The said debentures or the prooeede
thereof are only to be handed over to the
said William Lockridge and John Lockridge
and those associated with them on the aur•
chase and equipment of the said Howe Wool-
en Hill with new and modern- machinery as
aone-set mill and a first mortgage thereon
in favor of the Corporation for $6000.00 with-
out interest, with the principal thereof re-
payable in equal annual inatallnents of Drive
Hundred Dollars, in each year of the ten
years succeeding the pleasing of this By-law,
executed in favor of the said Corporation;
the insurance of the said buildings, plant
and
dnedd theronyfor auto in the usual courseaof L
insur-
ance, in Companies approved of by the Cor-
poration by resolution of the Council thereof,
with loss (if any) made payable to the said
Corporation and said policies handed over ;
and the execution of the personalbond of the
borrowers with one or more good sureties
approved of by resolution of the Connell of
the Oorporatioefpand made fn its favor guar-
anteeing
of the Five Hundred Dollarsfieaach. on pay
said mortgage.
8. This By-law shall take effect on the
Nineteenth day of January, A. D,, 1908.
