OBIT.—WA regret to state that after a

Mrs. MoNiehol, Qneeo street, Brussels on
Monday morning at 5 o'olook. She bad
been ill with pneumonia for two weeke but
het health had not been vigoroue for some
time previous. She was 18 years and 2
months. The funeral took place on New
Year's day at 3 o'clock. Interment at
Brneaele cemetery. Deceased was a
bright young woman, highly esteemed
whose demise will be sincerely regretted.

HEMENEAL,—A very pretty wedding
took plaoe at high noon at the home of.
Geo. and Mrs. Cottle, Whiteoburoh, on
Xmas day, when their second daughter,
Mies Rachel, and Thomas Kew, were
united in marriage by Rev. Dr. Brown,
The bride was 'ably supported by Mies
Sarah Kew—both presented a very charm -

genial way, supported the bridegroom

by Mrs. Sperling, the whole realm of•
Nature seemed to smile pleasantly upon
the bridal party and invited guests,
After the knot was carefully tied, the
baptism of the only sou of J. H. and Mrs.
Sperling book place. The friends then
retired to the dining room and partook
from the tables the best things a Christ-

were faithfully served, the following
toasts were proposed :—To the bride and
bridegroom by Kenneth Beaton ; to the
King by W. J. Kew ; to the company by

Thorne, of Mitobell, had sixty of their
descendants as guests at their home on
Christmas Day. The 000aeion was the
fiftieth anniversary of the marriage of
Mr. and Mrs. Thorne, end it brought to.

being the child of Frank and Mrs. Dunn,
of London. The nine children of the
aged couple were among those present at
the oelebratioo. They were :—Harry

Mra. Levy and Mrs. Burgess, of Mitobell,
and Mrs. Chown, of Clinton. The nom.
parry was indeed a happy one, and was

event in Mitchell. A pleasing event that
transpired daring the evening was the

are 76 and 72 years of age respectively,
