day of last week Mary Marks, beloved
wife of Hugh Williams, passed away from
time, to the sad eurpriee of the common•
ity. She bad been poorly for two weeks
prevtoue with rheumatioe and their
action on the beam was the oauee of her
demise. Mre. Williams was born at
Kempville, Grenville Co., and when 8
years of age ammo to Hamilton. In her
young womanhood ebe was an expert
blanket weaver, her work taking let
prize at the great exposition in London,
(Eng.,) in 1852, the blankets being after-
ward presented to the late Queen Vice
toric. In Deo. 1858 she was married at
Dundee to her now bereft partner and
they went to St. Catharines to reside,
They afterward lived et Elora, Maysville
and Stirton before removing to B,ueeels
in 1876. Oils, Williams was the mother
ot five children, Semael, aged 1.5 years,
died 1870, and Addie (Ogre. Geo. Sanders)
of Flint, Mich., passed away 7 or 8 years
ago. The survivors are Richard, livery.
