n FLOOR MILLS DESTROYED BY F1Ra,
-Another disastrous fire vieited Blyth
early on Tuesday morning of last week,
when the roller dour mills, operated by
W. H. Finnemore, were totally destroyed,
together with the offioe and elevator.
The fire was first discovered by James
Sims, whoa° residence was only a few
yards from the burning etroot0re. It
WAS 4 o'clock when Mr. Sims was awak-
ened and. at that time both the mill and
elevator, although separated by several
feet, were in the throes of the fiery element.
There was every evidence to ebow that
the fire bad been burning for at least one
boor before being dimmed. Tbe fire
alarm was sounded and the fire engine
and firemen responded promptly but
were unable to do anything towards Bev-
ies
either mill or elevator, The boiler
xoom and engine room, with their non•'
tents, and wood in the yard were saved
by the good work of the brigade. The
mill was owned by Augustus Boehmer, of
Berlin, and was valued at $8,000. It was
built 42 years ago by the tate Charles
Whitehead, of Clinton, and was one of
the largest and' beet aonstriioted hour
mills in. the ao4uty, being four stories
high and built bfbriok. 2i years ago W.
H. Finnemore leaned the mill and did
an 850811ent!oval and foreign: baeineeo
during that time. M. Pumemore is a
heavy loser by the fire, In the mil! were
700 bags' of flour ready for shipment and
500 baobab of wheat, besides bran, shorn
and bags. The elevator contained three
thoneand bnehele of wheat. All the
offioe contents were. destroyed, including
books and private papers. Mr. nine.

were separate buildings, eevoral Feet
apart, why should they barn at one and
