Inspeator Robb presides at the former
place and Inspector Tom at the latter.

work. Inspector Robb and J. H. Camer-
on examine the work at Clinton and
Inspector Tom and Principal Boyd, of
Exeter, do similar work at Goderioh.
There are 23 pupils at each school.
ILLUSTRATED LECTURE. — On Tuesday
eveniug of tbie week a Leature was given
in the Presbyterian church here by Rev,
Mr. Anderson, of Wroxeter, The sub•
jeot was "The South African V7ar," and
was illustrated by lantern elide views of
battle scenes, generale, native,, etc.
Daring the eveningselections were given
by tbe ohnrCh choir, and although the
'weather was not very favorable tbere
was a goodly number preeent. A vote of
thanks was tendered to Rev. Mr. Ander.

Tan BEES AND THE I1178.—Tbursday
evening of last week a box social was
held in the Lodge room of the Maocabees
at which $9.00 were realized to be applied
to aid the needy. A program of interest
was rendered. In musical numbers
Mime Lyda Crooks, Lizzie Sample,
Jean Ritchie, and lean MoLaaahlin and
Jae. a ones, Jae, Thomson, H. L. Jackson
and W. Grewar rendered valuable aid
and in literary oontributiona Mieeee
Josie Buabanan and Winnie MeGaire
and R. ate,andera and J. J. Gilpin per-
formed their part creditably. No small
amount of sport ensued when the boxes
were peacelled out and Columbus -like the
gents went on voyages of discovery in
testing the cooking of their fair com-
panions.

celebrated his eightieth birthday on Sat.

at the Central Methodist Church, Wood.
