Anglican Lay Worlfers and Bunchy
School Teaohees wore opened in Christ
church school house, Ohabbam, Thursday
afternoon of last week Right Rev. the
BIshop of Huron presided, and had aero•
reined with him Very Rey. Dean Innee,
Principal Dymond, ohairnpan of Lay
Workers, and Rev. J. Downie, ohairman
of the Sunday sollool oommittee. Rev.
Arthur Baldwin, of Toronto, was invited
to a seat upon the platform. Among biro
clergy present were ;—Cauona $iuelte,
Smith, Hill and Riohardaon ; Revs.
Graham, Porton, Sage, Armstrong, Dann,
Deihl, Roy George, Craig, Griffin, Hig-
ley, Coles, Sime, Brigham, Beverly,
Hooper, Ten Eyck, Bray, Minute, Shore,
Taylor, Freeman, Collins, Dobson,
Anderson and others. The laity were
represented by Messrs. Priuoipal Dy.
mond, Jenkins, Bray, Golden, MoWhin.

paper on "Some byways to success in

the difficulties and diecouragemente of
teaching, and attributed this chiefly to
the apathy and indifference of parents to-
wards the religious training of their
children, as well as to the laok of faithful
effort on the part of the teacher.
The paper was considered a very help-
ful ane. The discussion was led by Rev.
F. M. Holmes, followed by Jasper Gol-
den, Dr. Bray and Mrs. Brooker, Nebo
each gave practical addressee.
Rev. Canon Hill read an able paper on
"Prayer Book Teaching," showing the
first duty of the teacher ie to bring
scholars to Obrist, and the second to
teach them to love their ohuroh.
Dr. Bray followed with practical re.
marks.
The Bishop summed up in his usual
fervent manner, showing the rich in-
heritance the ohnrch possesses.
The annual report was fully presented.
It is a most extensive doonment, setting
forth fully the excellent progress made
during the past year. It was unanimous-
ly adopted.
