ding, father of our townsman, W. J.
Dowding, departed this life on July let,
at the royal old age of 80 years. His
home was Westbury, Wiltshire, England.
He had been in failing health for some
time. Mre. Dowding and one son, W. J.,
survive. Mr. Dowding was never on this
aide of the Atlantic.

treated William Malheron, of that place,

On Viotoria Park, Brunets, a lively
game way played Saturday eveniog, for
an hour, between the bones olub and the
lively ball trundlere of Oranhrook and
vicinity, with R. Peareon, the expert
goal keeper of the Lietowel Marlboros',
between the flags. In the first half the
visitors stored and toward the close of
the match Brueeele evened it up and the
match finished 1 to 1. Many times the
goal of the visitore was in danger but the
alertness of the goalkeeper kept down
the eoora, The Oranbrook boye pot 0p a
strong game and worked like beavers to
win and they came nearly doing it.
Three of the regular team in Brneeele
were not playing. The matoh was
thoroughly enj,,yed by all and good feel-
ing prevailed -among the players, which
