which seared the horses and started
them to run. Emerson was thrown off
behind and escaped unhurt, 'The horses
broke away from the machine smashing

death of Dr. MaDonald, A telegram

Presbyterian Ohurch, was born on the
0th of November, 1835, in the Citadel,

last week for the removal of a growth on
the left aide of his fen. We hope he

Monday and Tuesday of last week attend-

as finisher.—Viator Bartle, the youngest
eon of Mrs. Barthe, met with a painful
eooideat. Without ooneideriog the risk
he was running, he held a lighted giant
fire oraokerin bio hand until it exploded,
with the result that hie hand was badly
lacerated, the flesh being torn from the
palm and the bone of the thumb injured.
A doctor dressed the wound, whioh is
now mending.—Oyrns Hacking, deputy
postmaster, received a meeoage, stating
that hie eldest son Frank, who ie employ-
ed in Mr. Halstead's bank at Mt. Forest,
bad been severely injured by a fall from
hie bicycle. Mr, and Mre. Hooking
immediately drove over to Mt. Forest,
and found their eon badly injured and
still onooneoious. The accident took
plaoe on one of the streets in Mt. Forest,
previous to starting to ride home on his
wheel, 8e was his intention, and is sup-
ported to have been caused by the handle
bar turning, as he is a careful and expert
rider. In falling he etrook on hie head
and it was feared a rupture of a blood
vessel in the brain had taken place ; bat
he has made considerable improvement
and is now on a fair way to recovery.
