FAaos AsoUT THE COUNTY NEWSPAPERS. —The Clinton New Era says :—Huron has 17 newspapers issued within its border, the majority of them exception- ally good ones -A third one has been reeorrected at Wingham, but there is no more need for it than for a fifth wheel to a waggon. The two older ones in that plane have recently made marked im- provements, and deserve all the support Wingham merohanis Dan afford to give to newspapers.—Tbe one containing the most oarefblly written editorial, using the beet Englieb, is the Seaforth Expos iter, and it is probably the most sedate in its character.—The sharpest, bright- en, and most pungent editorial skits are those of the Goderioh Signal, whose versatile editor commands a vocabulary euperior to the modern dictionary, The one 000baining the moat humor is the. Bruesele Post, the items fairly overflow with it, and it is more efficacious in re. li=ving the eiok and despondent than all the nue' care -alis. The honor of.ieea• ing the poorest printed paper i3 divided between two or three small papers, that need not be named. Everybody knovie that the New Era is one of the best printed, anti it is, therefore, nnneoeseary for ue to mention the fact ; but thie may be stated, that the two Clinton papers give more original matter every week than any other two in the country.—The Goderioh Signal Seaforth Expositor, ExeterTimes, BrnseelsPost, and New Era all use steam power ; the rest are printed by main strength.—Mr. White, of the Exeter Times, is the oldest man 0o0Deoted with the county press, bat R. Holmes, of the New Era, has bad the longest connection with the county fraternity, bis experie0oe going back to 1865. -The Fordwioh Record is a. rather bright little paper, and evidently knows a goad thing- when it Bees it, for the editorial which announced the enlarge- ment of the New Ere, was used for the enlargement of the Record: -If we mistake not, the only unmarried men in the county editorial ranks are Mr. Mitch- ell, of the News -Record, and Ohara Bann. dere, of tbe Exeter Advocate. -None of the editors are partionlarly wealthy, and all are troubled with the diffiaolty of making delinquent subscribers pay up.
