GRADUATED.—Miss Julia Sharpe, who
has been training for a nurse in the
Amass, Wood Hospital, St. Tbomas, has
passed a very oreditabie examination,
having taken 78% and in now a fatly
fledged trained nurse. We are sure her
many friends will join in wishing her

Thursday of this week for a holiday.
JNo. BUTTON DEAD.— On Thursday
morning of last week John Batton, broth-
er of Alfred Batton, of this township,
died at his home at Kinburn, aged 57
years and 8 menthe, He bad been ill for
about a year from a neurons growth.
A wife and 2 children survive. The fun-
eral took plaoe to Brneeele cemetery on
Saturday. Rev. Mr. Kennedy, of Lon
desboro' taking the service at the house
and Rev. lair. Oosene, of Brunie, offioiat
ed at the cemetery.
In a letter from Henry Mooney, of
Weyburn, N. W. T , formerly of this
township, he reports very favorably of
the outlook. He has 880 aaree of wheat
in and 100 acres of Date. They have
broken 125 acres thfe Spring and have 10
more before the job is completed. Wey-
burn is progressing epleudidly and bas
developed into quite a bueiuese ventre.
Mr. Mooney is contemplating extending
bis possessions and his many old friends
here will be a unit in wishing him and
his abuudant and long continued pros•

ing Margaret Thompson, beloved wife of
Alex. Niobol, en, 7th line, passed over to
the great majority, in her 661E year. She
had a stroke of paralysis on Nov. 24th,
1902, while at the breakfast table and had
been an invalid sinne, confinedto the bed
all the time. She wan very patient and
without a complaint as the months pas
sed by. Deceased was born i0 Scotland
and coma to Canada in 1852 with ber

Mr. Nichol 46 years ago. In addition to
her husband she ie survived by 4 eons
(Robt., Alex, Jas,, and Edward) all of
Morrie and 2 danghtere (Mrs. Alex. Con -
non, of this township, and Mre, Alex, Mo-
Neil, of Fort William ) Five children
have been buried. Mre. Nichol had been
a very hearty woman and weighed as
numb as 215 pomade. She did mean to
