short illness Angus McOurdy passed
away at the family residence, Thursday
morning 22nd ult., aged 49 years, De•
oeaeed was born near Dungannon and
when 9 years old reoeivod a blow from a
stick in the hande of a soboolmate, which
laid him up for some time and orippled
him torlife. He served hie apprentice•
ehip se a tinemith in Kincardine, after'
which be worked with Mr. L' ieemer, of
Mildmay, for a few yearn. He then
went West and worked in Winnipeg for
some timo. Returning 15 Ontario he
again served in Mildmay with Mr.
Limner for a few years -11 years in all,
atter whioh he returned to Winnipeg,
where he worked at hie trade. He again
returned to Mildmay where he was
Married to Mies B. Smith and opened up
a hardware business iu the village of
Desborough near Obeeley. In two years
they sold out and went to Woodstock,
where• they continued in business for five
yrare, when he aloin eold ont and oame
to Fordwiob in 1893, where he continued

the Methodist church and took an active
part in Sunday School work, beteg a
teacher for many years. In politics he
was a etannoh Conservative, being one of
the Executive Oommittee of East Huron
at the time of his death. The late Mr.
Mo0nrdy took an active part in Society
work. He was a member of Clifford
Lodge, I, 0. 0.F., for over 25 years and
was treseurer of Fordwiob Counoil, No.
282, C. 0. 0. F. He was a devoted and
loyal Orangeman, being treaenrer of
Lodge' No, 642, and aloo a *roe and
noble Knight of the R, B. P. Dnring his
eeoond term in Winnipeg he contracted
rbeamatiem and he has bad a bad
attack since and which was the amuse of
hie death. The funeral took plane on
Sunday afternoon, the aervioea in the
Oboroh and at the grave being conducted
by Rev. J. Hussar, pastor of the Metho•
diet church. The Independent Order of
Oddfellowe of Clifford, Harrielon and
Wroxeter attending in a body—about 60
brethren were in attendance—and had
charge of the funeral, 'Thee, Dowling, of
Harriston, acting as marshal and Bro.
Hillhoaee, of Clifford, conducting the
beautiful and impreeeive service at the
grave. The Ohoeeu Friends of the looal
Council' attended in n body. The pro.

the Cemetery by the Fordwioh Band, The
